Michael Horn Center for Cosmetic SurgeryIf you’re seeking a soft, more radiant appearance without surgery, minimally-invasive facial treatments, like injectables and dermal fillers, may be the solution you’ve been searching for.

Treatments are temporary, but safe, fast and effective, and often accomplished with only one office visit. They don’t stop the aging process, but perhaps slow it down a bit, allowing the patient to look and feel younger, and confident that what’s inside now matches their outwardly appearance.

Botox Cosmetic injections are the most widely recognized and most popular form of injectables. Why? Because they work. More than 11 million men and women and their doctors have chosen Botox Cosmetic injections. The advantage of Botox is that there is no surgery or recovery time, and they provide real results for satisfied customers.

are injected with a syringe into the facial muscles to reduce those frown lines between the eyebrows. Botox blocks the nerve impulses to that area to reduce muscle activity that causes those lines to form. The frown lines can be moderate to severe, which can make a person look older or tired. Side effects and pain associated with the injection are minimal. Results can last for up to four months.

Dermal fillers work differently than Botox, but also are a popular choice for those who are looking for a more refreshed but natural look. Fillers add volume to sagging skin and soften those deep creases and wrinkles in your face. Treatments aren’t permanent, but may be combined with other skin rejuvenation treatments as part of a maintenance plan.

Restylane is a popular choice for a dermal filler and treatment only requires an hour-long office visit. Restylane can be used to plump up and smooth out moderate-to-severe wrinkles from the nose to the corners of the mouth, extending from the corners of the mouth to the jawline. Restylane also can be used to enhance the lip area, making your lips fuller and better defined. Side effects are minimal and there is no recovery time. Results vary, depending on the patient and the type of procedure, but improvements can last up to four to six months after one treatment.

Collagen injections, another dermal filler option, also add volume and fullness to facial wrinkles, creating a more youthful appearance. Like Restylane, collagen injections can be done in an hour-long office visit with minimal pain or side effects. When we’re young, collagen keeps the skin elastic, yet firm. As we age, collagen breaks down and the cumulative effects of a lifetime of smiling, laughing and frowning begin to show as the skin loses its tone.

Collagen injections replace the natural collagen in our skin. Follow-up treatments may be necessary in three to four months to maintain the desired results.

Juvederm, another popular dermal filler, replaces the hyaluronic acid in your skin. As we age, we lose this natural substance within the dermis of the skin, causing wrinkles and folds. Juvederm, an injectable gel, replenishes the hyaluronic acid in moderate-to-severe folds and wrinkles. This treatment has provided many patients with satisfactory results for up to a year, with up to two supplemental treatments.
